BRIGADE EASTER CRAFT

The Brigade took some time off from their Band practice
to make cards, cakes and decorate Easter biscuits.
They look scrummy!
What a pity there was no Father Philip to try them out!!

MALARIA NO MORE

In November 2013 the Brigade were tasked with raising enough
money to purchase 50 nets to save children in Africa from
being bitten by mosquitos.

They have raised money by running a treasure hunt, making loom band bracelets for their families and the congregation, selling fridge magnet crosses and holding a raffle for a huge basket of sweets as first prize, a large cuddly toy as second prize and a much coveted Baby Oleg toy as third prize.

With the help of the congregation, they have actually raised

£600

This is enough to buy

120 Nets

Well done Brigade!

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 2014

Remembrance Sunday was led by the children and officers of the
Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade.

The band played all the hymns with John Playing the Last Post and Rouse.

The Exhortation and Kohima Epitaph were read out whilst
Toby and Imogen carried the poppy wreath to the front and laid it at the altar steps.

The children wrote and read their own prayers for peace and assisted with
the sermon given by Rev'd Sue Morgan.

After the service the band gave a 15 minute concert of favourite war time songs.

I am sure you will all agree, it is great to see so many children playing instruments
and being involved with the service

CHURCH LADS' AND CHURCH GIRLS' BRIGADE BATTALION SERVICE

On 21st September the Rochdale Battalion of the CLCGB had their annual service at All Saints and Martyrs.

The three companies were All Saints and martyrs, St Thomas's  and St Martins.

Father Philip gave the sermon based "loosely" on the story of David and Goliath.

Not at all sure that Goliath had green "Hulk" hands!

After the service all assembled in the hall for refreshments.

A most enjoyable event.

The children of the C.L.C.G.B. with their "tongues of fire"
with the Holy Spirit, looking like a dove behind them.
They read the lesson and the prayers as well as being in the
Brigade band and accompanying the congregation with the hymns.

They were a great help to Rev Pauline who took the service today

A very busy service.
Well done to all..
